Definition: imagining yourself in the situation that someone else is in.
This is called empathy. Although the majority of the world lacks empathy, it could be developed by putting yourself in the same position.
When was the last time you complained about something at work? What happened? How was your complaint dealt with? Were you happy with the outcome?
