So, this is a special request from one of my friends who’s originally from Hanoi but living in Bangkok, Thailand.
What I love about this request was she asked me about the rest of the video. No one has asked me about the rest of my 1-minute fire video before, so I told her that I would make a podcast specially catered to her and everyone else.
Gary Vee’s Philosophy: Jab, jab, jab, right hook.
This equates to give, give, give, ask. Gary Vee puts an insane amount of content out there and asks people to share it from time-to-time. No one else really does that because after sales and promising a marketed Instagram video, they tell you to “click the link” for free resources and it always comes down to paying.
This is called right hook/upper-cut.
You can’t ask for rewards after not doing a god damn thing because that will breed entitlement. You’re not doing it out of the good nature of your soul, instead you’re doing it for financial gain. You will absolutely lose if that happens.
How do I do it?
Ok, you guys are probably wondering how a man that has so many blogs, podcasts, etc on his website make money from it? I don’t. Right now is the relationships building stage. These are the jabs galore. I want to show everyone, from top to bottom, who I am. This is especially crucial because if no one knows you and you post an ad on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook asking them to BUY YOUR COURSE, that’s a ridiculous haymaker to throw at people don’t know you. These people end up losing respect and posting ugly comments about your product because of it. Remember, human beings are sensitive.
From my YouTube videos, to making my podcast, Facebook page, etc. Nothing in terms of money has been made yet. That’s not my why. My WHY is to make English LEARNING. Period…don’t study it, learn it. Live in it. Watch my videos. Laugh a little and tell your friends about the things I said to inspire them to learn it. I will become the coolest teacher on my planet. Now, when the time comes, I will start putting webinars, newsletters, and create ebooks for courses, but all of that will come in the next year. My main focus is attention. Like Gary Vee said, “I’m day-trading attention.”
That Jack Canfield Story
Jack Canfield wrote about a guy named Tom. Tom worked for a multinational company and was always sent on business trips in first class. Being able to sit in the comfortable compartments away from everyone was the best for him — until he found out how much it costed. He realized that he can bring his kids along, donate to charities and use that money in a more useful way. Not only that, he realized that people in economy class were even more interesting than the first-class passengers. He right hooked and hit a pot of gold when he found out he was doing more taking than giving, sitting in first-class.
