Arsenio’s ESL Podcast: International Guest Speaker – Val of The Philippines!

So grateful to bring on my 5th country, and this one features a remarkable ESL teacher (born in the Philippines) who is devoted to changing lives.  Her accent, which somewhat sounds like an American accent, is pretty interesting.

With the continuity of practice comes perfection (in mastering an accent). I’m very excited to have her on and I’m waiting on others to start sending me messages to come on board!

Things we discussed:

  • Why did you want to become an ESL teacher?
  • What is your role as an ESL teacher as a non-native speaker?
  • The real reasons why you became an ESL teacher.
  • How did you manage to pick up the accent?
  • Nonstop practising will make your accent sound flawless?
  • Is it government initiative or individual’s initiative to learn English?
  • How do you brush up your English vocabulary?
  • What is the most difficult English accent that you’ve come along?
  • Why do you think the British accent is hard to understand?
  • There are a variety of English accents within the USA and Britain.
  • What is your advice for people who want to travel to the Philippines?
  • What about Tagalog?
  • What is your outlook for the next decades as an ESL teacher?
  • Life is about empowerment.
  • Stories about cultural differences.
  • What is your message to all the ESL teachers around the world?
